I’ve been diving deep into this PKM (Personal Knowledge Management) and Zettelkasten Method to take smart notes, expand my knowledge, and make better use of the information I read and learn. I now understand the theory, I know what I should do but I’m stuck on what in my own opinion is the simplest step…picking the right tool.

Is the right tool a thing?

How to define which is the right tool to get the job done? People use all kinds of software, I’ve been seeing a lot of Obsidian, Roam Research, Notion, heck I’ve even seen people doing analog zettelkasten, so which one should I pick? The best answer would be the one I’m comfortable with but it’s not that easy, I want to have the perfect tool for the perfect system and I want it now!

Don’t aim for perfect, just aim to begin

That’s what I keep telling myself. In this uncertainty of choosing the best tool, life has been passing me by, I’ve been stuck for weeks without doing something about it.

Choose what you already know and iterate

I’ve been using Evernote for a while, it works fine for me and I like it, so why I should invest time learning a new tool if I already know…
